If you go early, right when it opens and know what you want parking is easy and the crowds are minimal. However if you find yourself going mid day on say a weekend expect to battle your way through the parking lot, then through crowds of families and screaming children as you navigate through the carefully orchestrated maze of coffee tables and cabinets. The staff is friendly and helpful but there isn't a lot of them, its a mostly self service business. That said despite all the hassles it is a great place to find stylish budget furniture that doesn't really exist anywhere else at this price point. They were complete amateurs, most of the time half of the guys were resting, they came unprepared and it took them hours to even bring the items (it's as if they never moved a heavy box). Safe neighborhood as long as you keep in that area. After complaining to IKEA, we had to wait for 24 hours for them to "investigate" the case. They got back to us, and arranged delivery and assembly of the remaining items in a week. The store itself is comparable to the others Ive been to across the country and selection is good. The only major gripe I have with is the delivery service - Id say its more related to the company having the contract to deliver everything ordered at IKEA and not IKEA itself. I had a terrible first experience with the delivery service @ the East Palo Alto store. I was promised a window from 9AM - 1PM and so did the order say. But then on the delivery date, not only did no one show up during the time frame, none bothered to let me know what was happening.
